Conservatism as espoused by Burke undoubtedly leads to dystopia. Conservatism presupposes an unchangin milieu which cannot exist in the face of technological progress. Advances in technology necessarily effect changes in society. We can see the result of unchecked conservatism in the pages of Huxley's Brave New World.
